Reviews Featuring Sigourney Weaver
Tadpole
A good escapist film to pass the time.
Ghostbusters
Totally deserving of it’s status as a classic – funny, original and massively entertaining, "Ghostbusters" is one of the best films not just of the 1980s, but of all time.
Ghostbusters II
Another funny, entertaining and spook-tacularly enjoyable ride from the Ghostbusters. Will we EVER see them back on the big screen??
Alien
Still one of the best movies to come out of either the horror or sci-fi genre – this one gets the blood pumping.
Aliens
An intense, explosion-filled edge-of-the-seat space romp that easily lives up to its predecessor.
Alien3
Marvellously directed and well-acted, but a dirty and wholly unrewarding experience, containing major plot-holes thanks to a complete disregard of what went on in the previous movie.
Alien: Legacy
A nicely-packaged collector’s item which anyone who’s a fan of the series will love. Anyone else would be better off just getting the first two – that way’s cheaper, and you really wouldn’t be missing out on much.
Alien: Resurrection
Visually impressive, but too much of it is contrived and totally far-fetched – making it effectively the binary opposite of the original movie. Here is a prime example of a franchise that should have quit while it was ahead.
Holes
Rarely have I enjoyed a kiddy-flick so much – this is a movie every member of the family, young or old, will be able to get involved in. One of the best movies of 2003.
Heartbreakers
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with less laughs but much, much more cleavage.
The Village
It’s not Shyamalan’s best piece of work, and it’s not as good as it could have been – but it’s still one of the must-sees of the year.
Imaginary Heroes
An over-medicated family needs deeper healing in this impressive debut.
WALL-E
Once again, Pixar has crafted an Oscar-worthy film in a genre a lot of people dismiss as kid's stuff. No mere cartoon, WALL-E delivers on all levels AND packs in some pretty relevant statements on the state of the world to boot. Plus, it's quite possibly the best love story of the year.
Avatar
James Cameron uses the full capabilities of CGI to create a truly beautiful film that is sure to be one of the Noughties' most definitive movies.
