As far as excruciatingly bad comedies go, only the super-offensive Martin Lawrence vehicle "National Security" is likely to beat "The Hot Chick" hands-down for the title of this year's worst of the lot.
Starring bug-eyed screen-hugger Rob Schneider as a girl in a bloke's body, it follows a path well-trodden by previous body-swap comedies - with the crucial difference of being neither entertaining nor funny. Schneider ends up living the life of cheerleading High School brat Jessica (Rachel McAdams) as the result of a mystical curse involving an ancient pair of Abyssinian ear-rings - don't ask. Cue lots of opportunities for Schneider to camp it up big style with requisite crop-top, limp wrists and low-brow toilet gags.
Jessica's attempts to come to terms with her unexpected make-over are helped along by best bud April (Anna "Scary Movie" Faris), but strangely boyfriend Billy (Matthew Lawrence) seems less than enthusiastic about the prospect of accompanying the hairy screeching ladyboy to the school prom. Can't think why that might be.
The funniest parts of the movie by a long way are the all-too-rare glimpses of what's happening with Jessica's own body - where Schneider's character has her mugging, beating up grown men and working as a particularly aggressive stripper. Unfortunately, Schneider's screenplay makes sure we don't get to see too much of that side of things. If we did, he wouldn't be in practically every scene - and then it just wouldn't be a Rob Schneider movie, would it?
It's Got: Adam Sandler in shockingly bad cameo mode as a weed-obsessed store-assistant. Must have seemed like a good idea at the time.
It Needs: To be funny
Alternatives: Freaky Friday, Vice Versa, Down to Earth
Summary: Repetitive, one-joke junk. Do yourself a favour - stay in and rent "Big" instead.

| This has to be, one of the worst movies ever made (though I'm sure there are some close contenders for this seemingly-coveted title). I didn't laugh once...for the first time in any movie-going experience (including non-comedies). There are many moments that most would consider offensive; I found the most offensive to be the assumed notion from these movie-makers that an audience member would find farting, urinating, and incest even remotely amusing. Also, Rob's constipated cow look is atrocious, at best. This is a horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, insult to mankind, God-I'm-gonna-need-hypnotherapy-to-erase-this-crap-from-my-memory, wretched attempt at a movie that may very well be at the top of every critic's "worst of all time" list. For that, Schneider, Tom Brady, and everyone else involved (including Adam Sandler) should stand proud; maybe that will help yank their heads out of their asses. |

| I 1st saw this on my last day of middle school, when a friend of mine won the vote to bring in the film its self on video. And i just have to say, what a great film to watch on a final day of something. Especially a day that brang all my friends together for the final time, before we split up for high school. I thought this film was excellent.Me and my friend pinkprincess#2 even rented it out of our local video store that night! We had great fun watching it for the 2ND TIME! its just one of those films that you can keep watching! There were maybe a few downfalls, the constant convosation from Adam Sandler about his Weed. But apart from that, i found this very entertaining. I absaloutly loved the scary movie films, and so i thought Anna Farris was excellent, she provided some of the most funny moments in that film. eg the pepperspray lol. epp up the good work! |

| the first time i saw this movie i thought that it was really boring and it was just another school teen movie but when i finish watching it i really like it and i watch it about 4 time. i would recomend that they make another movie like this or close to it. |

| oh mi gosh!!! matthew lawrence is sooo hot in this movie! and i liked the movie too. a lot of teens do. i think its funny. even if its not good enough for the critics. i think adam sandler was hilarious, too. i wish there were more boys like billy! |
