I thought that the movie was pretty formulaic in its approach, complete with lipsync'd stage scenes. Imagine my utter shock when I realized during the credits at the end that the kids were *actually* playing their own music. Wow! That raised it up a notch or two for me.

Surely Bitel's review was rather harsh? Don't let's forget - School of Rock is a children's movie, wart's 'n' all - and that's what makes it so good. Every cringeworthy cliché was much enjoyed in my eyes.

Bitel's comment was DEFINETELY harsh! the movie was awesome and it was really funny, too. Jack Black DID go over the top, but that's what makes this movie so different and better then any other movie. I give school of rock without a doubt 5 stars!

the guy who reviewed it took the movie too seriously.(anton bitel) the movie is for children dammit (i assume) "essentially dead poets society with the intelligence sucked out of it" why would children give a **** about the intelligence part of the movie. the movie is for fun. you didnt have to scrutinize and disect it but enjoy it. oh well, the rest of us morons are happy except you HA!

oh my gosh what i great movie.my recital was doing a dance to this song and i just happened to be in it i have the movie and the soundtrack.my two faveorite characters in this movie are summer(miranda cosgrove)and katie(rebecca brown)you two did an awsome job.this movie made me laugh more than any movie i have seen before,and its my faveorite movie,i wish i couldve been in it.i hope if you do a school of rock 2 or another movie with miranda cosgrove and rebecca brown i hope maybe i could be in it.well good job on that movie!i loved it!

the other day i sa school of rock and i havent stop watching it since its just so gr8 kevin is so awsome!! its so funny and the choice of music in the film is brill. kevin rocks on drums and joey is brill on electric guitar and rebecca is wicked on base and robert is awesome on keyboard!! and miranda is a gr8 actor and all the others espesially jack hes the funnyist person ever it tottally rocks!! love katex00xx00xx00xx00x

The guy who wrote this down is a complete idiot. He keeps saying bad criticism about the movie just to look intelligent.The "a shamelessly derivative musical comedy for morons" is the best example of it. And things as "All along, the Man has really been a woman, and it is to her and to all she represents that Dewey's rebel without a cause has been opposed" only shows up that he must only have seen like 2 minutes of the film. And he's not that clever, 'cause he didn't really got the message of "sticking it to the Man". That's why I hate reviews and those who write it!
